I'm writing to ask that you override the California Coastal Commission's objection to the completion of State Route 241. The 241 is an important component of the approved Southern California Regional Transportation Plans and California's federal Clean Air Act Implementation Plan. Judging from their work in the past, I believe that TCA will build the 241 with sensitivity to the environment. Current traffic on Interstate 5 - the only north-south route between Los Angeles and San Diego - restricts mobility and goods movement in Southern California. Traffic forecasts for the year 2025 show a 60 percent increase in traffic and an additional 200 million pounds of greenhouse emissions each year. The 241 is the only practical option for a desperately needed alternative route. Sincerely,
